Language Arts Instruction for Homeschool Students

2024-25 Language Arts Class Offerings


Class One

World Literature & Composition

September 17 through October 24 (weeks 1-6) January 21 through February 27 (weeks 7-12)

Students will participate in the following activities:

  • Essay construction and organization
  • Guided reading and response
  • Review and practice for SAT/ACT
  • Vocabulary and spelling units
  • Reading comprehension practice
  • World literature studies – novels, poetry, and short stories
  • Writing mechanics instruction and practice
  • Class presentations and creative writing

Class Two

British Literature & Composition

November 5 through December 12 (weeks 1-6)
March 18 through May 1 (weeks 7-12)

Students will participate in the following activities:

  • Essay construction and organization
  • Guided reading and response
  • Review and practice for SAT/ACT
  • Vocabulary and spelling units
  • Reading comprehension practice
  • British literature studies – novels, poetry, and plays
  • Writing mechanics instruction and practice
  • Class presentations and creative writing

Class Three

Middle School Language Arts

September 18 through October 23 (weeks 1-6)
January 22 through February 26 (weeks 7-12)

Students will participate in the following activities:

  • Paragraph construction and organization
  • Literary & poetry terminology
  • Reading comprehension practice
  • Persuasive writing & techniques
  • Writing mechanics instruction and practice
  • Class presentations and creative writing
  • Classic literature studies

High School Class Information

Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 – 2:30 for twelve weeks: six weeks first semester and six weeks second semester.

Students will be assigned 5-6 hours of homework each week. Students will receive one year of Language Arts credit per option.

Cost Information

High School Class Cost is $850.00 per option.

Vendor Direct Payment forms may be used for payment.


Middle School Class Information

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 11:30 – 1:00 for twelve weeks: six weeks first semester and six weeks second semester.

Students will be assigned 5-6 hours of homework each week. Students will receive one year of Language Arts credit per option.

Cost Information

Middle School Class Cost is $600.00.

Vendor Direct Payment forms may be used for payment.


Cost Information

Families must contact DeVolld Consulting, in writing, 60 days prior to the first day of class if the student decides not to attend. Failure to do so will result in being charged the full amount.
